Legal challenge against the downgrading of the wolf: France steps in and chooses censorship.

7 January 2026 – While a coalition of European associations has recently filed an appeal with the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) to challenge the reduction of wolf protection at European level – and, in effect, the easing of culling – France and Finland are doing everything possible to prevent environmental defenders from accessing justice.
