Third wolf saved thanks to our appeal: the Bolzano Administrative Court of Appeal has definitively overturned the killing order

The Bolzano Administrative Court has upheld the appeal submitted as part of the proceedings brought by the National Pro Natura Federation and LEAL, with the support of Green Impact ETS, a member organisation of Pro Natura Nazionale, and external backing from AGR. 

The previous suspension has been converted into a permanent order, which permanently suspends the Autonomous Province of Bolzano’s order regarding the killing of the third wolf as provided for in the provincial plan. The wolf is safe and will not be killed. 

The hearing on the merits of the appeal has been adjourned to a later date and will also address the killing of the two wolves already killed by the Province. The lawyers representing the appeal have also requested that the matter be referred to the Court of Justice of the European Union.

This is a crucial outcome in preventing further killing orders, whilst legal proceedings continue to shed light on the legality of the two killing that have already taken place.
